Settling in and anxious to head out...

Well, we've transitioned from the house to our old RV. We will have the closing on the house next week and then we'll be able to get the new RV in which we'll be 'full-timing.' So, for the time being it feels as though we are camping; still in-between.

This little break is nice, though, because both Dennis & I were mentally and physically tuckered out from the process! It is amazing how many things one can store away in the little corners and closets of one's abode. Since we are downsizing so drastically, we literally had to go through each book, piece of furniture, DVD, kitchen item, article of clothing, picture, and knick-knack and decide if we could fit it in the RV with us, or if it would go to a family member or friend (a nice way of kind of keeping it with us), sell it, donate it, or trash it. We were bone-weary at the end of each day!

I was surprised at how emotional I got while sorting through some things; memories were triggered, moments were relived, tears were shed. Husbands don't always understand tears. Whether generated from a happy place or a sad one, tears tend to unnerve some folks. Poor, sweet Dennis never knew what might set me off... a comfy love seat we'd curled up in together while we were dating, a casserole (too heavy to keep) I'd used to make a signature dish , or one of Denny's handmade clocks and the beautiful chime that I wouldn't hear again. He'd see a lone tear coursing down my cheek and think I'd changed my mind about our adventure. We realized together that missing something isn't a bad thing; it just means that we have wonderful memories, and for that we are thankful.

We are truly blessed and excited about the road that lies ahead!

Well, I'm new to this blog stuff so don't really know what to do. I'll check back for photos, stories, etc.
