Bogeys, Bingo, and that Big Band Sound

As our several-months stay in the Texas Hill Country draws to a close, Dennis and I remember with delight the moments we've enjoyed here with family and friends. Our days have been filled with plenty of exercise: golf, ping-pong, power-walks, and shopping (hey, that's exercise!). The community here at the campground is very active, from educational seminars to pot-luck dinners to organized outings and competitive games. We really enjoyed a fun Valentine's Day Dinner/Dance with John and Judy Winslow (our friends from Minnesota) and Dennis's daughter, Amy, and her husband, Rick. Dennis and I even got in on the weekly Bingo game twice...and both of us won - how neat was that?!

The Winslows have been here for the month of February. During that time, the four of us have been entertained musically ('American Big Band' - a newly staged, costumed and choreographed production featuring the greatest highlights of the last 80 years at the Cailloux Performing Arts Center in Kerrville) and theatrically (a terrific one-act production of 'Man of La Mancha' at the Fredericksburg Community Theater). We've also spent an afternoon exploring the newest exhibit at the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg and another discovering the antiquities in the little community of Comfort. It is a wonderful gift to have good friends with whom we share so many things in common. They are a true blessing to us!

Throughout our time here , Mother Nature has shown us her full range of weather conditions, usually accompanied by a healthy breeze. Dennis has captured the variety on film:

..quite a few blustery, wet days...

...a snowy backyard on several mornings (our coldest night/morning was 11 degrees)...

...but mostly we've had lovely days ranging from the 40's to the 60's.

Well, we hope that you've enjoyed your winter and that spring comes to you quickly!
Until next time, God's peace.
